I am a realist artist based in Ellicott City, Maryland. My love of the plant world and photography is reflected in the images I record in my own gardens as well as in those I encounter during my travels. In my paintings, my goal is to vividly capture and magnify the beauty, power, detail and, sometimes, the whimsy of our natural world, as I focus on the interplay of light and colors on form. I prefer to work in oils, but I have also enjoyed creating pastel paintings and charcoal drawings during the years I have studied with well-known realist painter and teacher, David Zuccarini. In recent years, I have had paintings selected for many juried exhibitions. I grew up in a family of avid gardeners who designed and developed extensive gardens around their homes. In addition to my own backyard gardens, I have been nurturing this “secret garden” for all these years … until now!
